IN 2023, THE GOUFFRE DE PADIRAC

TELLS THE STORY OF THE EXPLORERS

IN 2023, THE PADIRAC CHASM TELLS THE STORY OF THE EXPLORERS
THROUGH A NEW LOCATION AND A PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION

This year, the Gouffre de Padirac wishes more than ever to honour the heroes of modern times: the explorers. To prolong the adventure for visitors, the Gouffre de Padirac is opening a conceptual place, a Restaurant & Café-Library dedicated to stories of exploration and is presenting the photographic exhibition "The Faces of Exploration", by Editions Paulsen-Guérin.

THE AUBERGE DU GOUFFRE, NOW DEDICATED TO EXPLORATION STORIES

Exploration is at the heart of the world of the Gouffre de Padirac. From now on, visitors to this unique place in the world can extend the experience by having lunch among the books to soak up the stories of extraordinary adventurers!
A selection of works from the catalogues of Editions Paulsen-Guérin, Artaud and other publishing houses with departments specialising in adventure stories is presented.

AN EXHIBITION PAYING TRIBUTE TO EXPLORERS

In line with the Restaurant-Café-Librairie, this season the Gouffre de Padirac will host the photographic exhibition "The Faces of Exploration", created by Editions Paulsen-Guérin with the support of Crédit Mutuel Savoie-Mont Blanc.
The thirty portraits, installed in the vicinity of the Gouffre de Padirac and its Auberge, will show the men and women who, since the end of the 19th century, have braved the dangers driven by their courage, their tenacity and their thirst for discovery. For the occasion, a portrait panel of Edouard-Alfred Martel (first explorer of the Gouffre de Padirac) has been added to the exhibition.
