EXPLORERS' EVENINGS

Immersive lantern tours

Every year, the Gouffre de Padirac gives visitors the chance to discover its galleries and history in a special way during its Explorers' Evenings. As night falls, participants embark on an unusual tour by lantern.

In 2025, the Explorers' Evenings are even more immersive!

You'll have the honour of being one of the first visitors to the Gouffre de Padirac at the end of the 19th century. You'll set off to explore this famous ‘Devil's Hole’ that has intrigued the whole of Paris since it was discovered by Monsieur Edouard-Alfred Martel in 1889.

Our guides will be dressed in their best frock coats to show you around the site and tell you their best historical anecdotes.
You'll discover this new world by the light of your lanterns - electricity hasn't yet arrived in the underground galleries... An unforgettable moment of suspension!

The tour is preceded by a buffet dinner at the Auberge du Gouffre featuring local gastronomy.
