JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH,
In search of Axel Lidenbrock
Exclusive 2024 creation by Crumble Production for the Gouffre de Padirac
It's the spring of 1899 and you've been invited to the inauguration of the Gouffre de Padirac. Edouard-Alfred Martel, a pioneer in the exploration of this major geological curiosity, was delighted to offer a preview of the famous "Devil's Hole" in the Dordogne valley to a select few. A number of distinguished guests were invited to join in the celebrations, including the famous novelist Jules Verne and the actress Sarah Bernhardt.
But just as the party is in full swing, a young woman bursts in in a panic. She explains that her fiancé, Axel Lidenbrock, has gone down into the abyss alone and that he has disappeared, abducted by a winged monster. The visitors set off on a manhunt, descending to the centre of the Earth to find him.
Along the way, visitors will meet our protagonists. Together they will visit the bowels of the Earth and be transported into the fabulous world of Jules Verne to solve the mystery of Axel Lidenbrock's disappearance.

CRUMBLE PRODUCTION
As a collective of artist-writers, actors, set designers and developers specialised in the creation of immersive shows, Crumble Production pushes back the boundaries of the spectacular, skilfully blending classical theatre, new technologies and audience participation.
WHAT IS IMMERSIVE THEATRE?
It's a piece of theatre in which the audience becomes part of the performance, moving freely within the sets and characters. The "fourth wall" that usually separates the stage from the audience no longer exists: the spectator becomes an actor and chooses to apprehend his own experience. They can decide to follow any character, linger to immerse themselves in the setting and let themselves be guided by the unfolding of the story.
This form of theatre has already proved its worth in English-speaking countries.
More fluid than escape games and more fun than traditional theatre, immersive theatre is attracting growing public interest in France.
